Bob Log III is a one man band slide guitar party. A perverse product of the Arizona desert, Bob Log III has been diligently travelling the globe since 1996, showcasing his incomparable talents and developing a devoted following along the way. A whirlwind of dexterous limbs and digits, this super star sonic showman has to be seen to be believed. Clad in his cannonball man, extra tight jumpsuit and signature motorcycle helmet with telephone/microphone attached, Bob Log III unfailingly sweats up a river while kicking on a kick drum, stomping his homemade foot cymbal and playing slide on an old archtop guitar. His endless pursuit for musical mayhem and a downright party has seen his unique talents utilized for children’s birthday parties, obscure beer barns, mammoth music festivals and everything in between. Yet, beyond these mesmerizing visuals, lies the true reason for Bob Log’s international cult status and superhero adoration. It is quite simply the guitar playing - finger picked lightning, sliding up and down, stopping when it wants to, then starting again when it feels like it, all in a way that makes people move uncontrollably, smile and reel. Excerpts from an unpublished journal – The Adventures of Bob Log III and His Faithful Guitar, by The Guitar: Chapter 39 HELP! 162 shows this year! 30 Countries! My strings hurt! My nut aches! My volume knob was broken by a Swedish girl’s butt! I don’t even know where we are right now. We have been doing this for 12 years! One man, kicking shit and playing guitar! He never stops! EVER! People keep smiling, dancing, sweating, dancing…… I am covered in beer! His suit smells so bad! QUOTES AND TESTIMONIALS And now let’s hear some actual words from notable people who know and love, or at least know Bob Log III… TOM WAITS "And then there’s this guy named Bob Log, you ever heard of him? He’s this little kid — nobody even knows how old he is — wears a motorcycle helmet and he has a microphone inside of it and he puts the glass over the front so you can’t see his face, and plays slide guitar.
With a clear vision, open heart, and guitar in hand, paris jackson plugs into pure emotion at the source. She’s not just playing a signature brand of alternative rock; she’s tracing a lasting mark in the shape of a beautiful scar that’s cut into the skin by her raw instrumentation and relatable lyrics. The Los Angeles-based vocalist, guitarist, songwriter, and consummate creative isn’t afraid to confront tragedy, trauma, or demons of any kind with a scream, a smirk, and a power chord. She creates the kind of music that can inspire you to take a look at yourself, change your perspective, or simply appreciate the messy magic of life in the moment. She introduced her artistry on 2020’s wilted—crafted with Manchester Orchestra’s Andy Hull and Robert McDowell. It vaulted to #1 on the iTunes Top Alternative Albums Chart and incited tastemaker applause from Associated Press, Entertainment Weekly, NME, NPR, NYLON, Refinery29, and Rolling Stone. On “lighthouse,” she teamed with producer Butch Walker and tapped Mike McCready of Pearl Jam for its guitar solo. She evolved into a formidable live performer by headlining packed houses and supporting Queens of The Stone Age, Incubus, Silversun Pickups, and The Revivalists. As a renaissance woman, she extended her creativity with roles in Lee Daniels’ Star, American Horror Stories, Prime Video’s Swarm, Doctor Odyssey, Gringo, The Space Between, and One Spoon of Chocolate. She remains an active ambassador for the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation and was honored with the Shining Star Award at the 35th Annual Friendly House Awards Luncheon. Now, paris turns the page on her next creative chapter with the singles “zombies in love” and “teenage drama.”

The Iron Roses - The Iron Roses are a passionate, unique, and beautiful group of people making music that we hope will change the world. Fueled by the injustices of our current times - their songs are the kind of protest anthems that only a group of seasoned musicians could make. Still angry, still driven, and still screaming – this is a band that will never give up the fight. It takes serious talent to write and sing songs that sound angry while the music lifts your spirits. So much of political punk is abrasive and unpleasant. No hooks. No melodies. But other times the words sound incongruent with emotionless and insipid music. The Iron Roses manage something rare and commanding with music that lifts the heart coupled powerfully with lyrics that express fury and resentment of the current world. Punk as a genre has been so commodified and diluted over the last decades that it seems to be ever increasingly hard to find bands that resonate this way. Yes, we can discuss their pedigree, most notably their frontperson Nathan Gray (of Boysetsfire), and their relentless touring and political activism. But none of those things matter if the songs don’t connect with the listener. And this collection of songs are going to do just that. From the opening notes of the first song the cards are on the table. The objective is clear – The Iron Roses are putting to words and music all the thoughts you’ve had these last few dark years. With the worldwide political climate leaning further and further from the left. With rights for many being limited and destroyed. With no end in sight. We need bands like The Iron Roses giving us a soundtrack to fight. Songs to pour our anger and frustration into when we sing along - just as they did when they wrote and recorded them.https://www.instagram.com/theironroses/Rodeo Boys - punk / garage / grunge from Lansing, MIhttps://www.rodeoboysofficial.com/

SQUID PISSER eviscerates the ego and and all things serene with their own vibrant form of vicious and mucky hardcore. Slamming down dolphin corpses at breakneck speeds, the duo, which is comprised of Tommy Meehan on guitar (Deaf Club, Cancer Christ, Sweatband Records, Cartoon Network) and Seth Carolina (Starcrawler), have constructed a fresh and mucousy new alien craft powered by tightly controlled noise-guitar, savage primal drum work, and gooped up vocal deliveries that might sound like a gaggle of frogs thrown into a garbage disposal (although the Squid boys wouldn’t recommend doing this). Conceptualized and formed in 2022, the band decided to fully utilize planet Earth’s viral slumber in order to gestate, write, and record 2 full length albums worth of material. Throughout the year, SQUID PISSER played a handful of shows in California and Nevada as a 2 piece as they continued the quest for further personnel and collaborators. Tommy Meehan’s tightly controlled noise-onslaught of rainbow vomit (spat out of a guitar amp via manic pedalboard wizardry and sophisticated finger work) paired with the utterly brutal and savage drumming of Seth Carolina, merge to create a collection of tracks that have been forged in a totally fucked and sonically chaotic storm of pus and goo.

We like to believe our lives can be shaped into stories—clean arcs, legible meaning—but life refuses the outline. Instead, it moves bluntly and without apology, indifferent to our sense of order. Events pile up without resolution, momentum divorced from direction, motion confused for progress. Sometimes the only refuge left is the nowhere of our own minds. El Ten Eleven’s Nowhere Faster, the duo’s 16th release, was forged within that unease. Across eight tracks, it considers not just nothingness but velocity—the strange urgency that propels us forward even when the destination remains unclear. We are committed to acceleration, convinced speed itself might save us. The 33-minute album slows just long enough to pose the harder questions: what are we running from, and what do we think we can outrun? That tension appears even in the album’s artwork, once again created with longtime collaborator Rob Fleming. It depicts a classic liminal space: familiar, anonymous, quietly unsettling. A stained glass-colored building and a streetlamp blur at the edges, suggesting motion that feels less like escape than enclosure—the kind that traps rather than transports. Nowhere Faster emerged from Kristian Dunn and Tim Fogarty’s longest break from touring and recording in their 23 years together, though “break” is something of a misnomer. Dunn’s famously restless creative pace never slowed. Instead, he began writing for not one but two drummers, handing Fogarty one of the most demanding challenges of his career. The record also marks a first for the band, weaving real strings and piano throughout, deepening the palette of what is already one of their most layered works. The album’s titles and sounds draw from moments scattered across the band’s 23-year history. Opener “Uncanny Valley Girl” marks the return of long-retired effects like the delay pedal, stacking basslines into a dense, enveloping wall. It’s a clear-eyed take on AI-era paranoia, anchored by Fogarty’s steady rhythm—snare taut, cymbals gently alive—giving the sci-fi unease something solid to lean on. “Bjork’s Alarm Clock,” meanwhile, takes its title from an insult hurled at the band by a guitarist of a punk band on their first tour; you can almost hear Dunn and Fogarty’s quiet laughter beneath the buoyant bass and bow-scratched strings. Still, Nowhere Faster is not a retreat into nostalgia. El Ten Eleven remains invested in risk and reinvention. The record continues to center Fogarty’s propulsive drumming and Dunn’s bass-driven experimentation: the first four tracks (“side A”) feature electric bass, while the latter half (“side B”) shifts to acoustic bass processed through pedals, subtly altering the album’s emotional weight. “Last Night In The Kitchen” reaches for the slick, sleazy bombast of classic Bond themes, opening new corridors for Dunn’s ever-expanding musical ambitions. Ultimately, Nowhere Faster is an album about reckoning—about time, endurance, and the uncertainty of how long a band, or a life, can last. We are all fumbling toward finitude. The question is not whether we’ll arrive, but what we want to hear on the way there. What will we dance to as the ground begins to shift beneath us? If nothing else, it may sound something like Nowhere Faster.

Simon Joyner is a renowned American singer-songwriter from Omaha, Nebraska who has released albums on independent labels since the early 1990s. His earliest records were influential signposts of the Lo-Fi movement which also produced contemporaries like Smog, Lou Barlow, Will Oldham and the Mountain Goats. He is now widely regarded as one of the great songwriters of our time. Gillian Welch calls him her favorite poet and Kevin Morby and Conor Oberst both claim him as a major influence. Despite often being described as a songwriter’s songwriter, Joyner has soared under the radar for over thirty years. His storytelling has been compared to Leonard Cohen, Townes Van Zandt, Lou Reed, and Bob Dylan. Over the course of 19 albums his career is hard to pin down as he’s followed a mercurial path, never content to make the same record twice. See him at The Reverb playing the songs from his new album, "Tough Love," with a band of Omaha musical royalty including David Nance, Jim Schroeder, Sean Pratt, Mike Friedman, and Megan Siebe. ------ David Nance is a musician based in Omaha, Nebraska. Nance grew up in Grand Island, Nebraska, played in the marching band and discoveredpunk and garage rock before moving to Omaha and joining the mid-2000 garage punk scene happening there with the band the Forbidden Tigers. Several years spent in Los Angeles with his wife Anna led to a period of songwriting and home recording before they decided to move back to Omaha where he began finding his musical identity and started recording his songs with like-minded friends. What developed was a heavy burned-out rock vibe that still somehow fits in the punk universe. Nance also played with Omaha legend Simon Joyner and has continued to record and self-release tapes and cdrs throughout the past decade. Nance is also known for his lightning punk cover recordings of classic albums such as Lou Reed’s Berlin, Beatles for Sale and Devo’s Duty Now For the Future. For this series, Nance will choose a favorite album, learn the songs and record over the course of a week and release it on CDR or cassette on his own Western Records. Nance plans on continuing this project and would like to release 100 of these eccentric home spun and destroyed love letters to the greats. Another partnership includes a collaboration with the musician Rosali that has resulted in two excellent albums and subsequent tours with the David Nance Group as her backing band. They had been touring with her band the Long Hots in 2019 and started playing together with mutual affinity. Rosali’s upcoming album was recorded with musical compatriots James Schroeder recording and Kevin Donahue and Nanceplaying, as well. Not content to mine one musical formula, Nance and company continue to explore new sounds and spaces. From the blistered punk blasts of More Than Enough to the introspective stance on Staunch Honey, Nance and his friends find inspiration from the friends and fellow musicians that have accompanied them on their journey. A fruitful one indeed.

With 8-foot-tall pig suits, t-shirt tosses, AirDropping unreleased demos from the stage, constant instrument swapping, and free coffee, The Toxhards have built a rapidly growing and devoted fanbase - many of whom attend shows cosplaying as characters from the band’s eclectic catalog such as “Ængus, The Prize-Winning Hog,” “Satan’s Little Hell Song,” “Beatrice,” “Doombop!” and “Get Creative! The Toxhards’ music has racked up tens of millions of streams and views online, with millions more for their comedic bits and skits. Their debut LP Your Neighborhood was released in spring 2025 via Hopeless Records to critical acclaim, and was followed by extensive touring across North America. Fusing elements of jazz, and other genres that they can get their hands on, Orialus crafts a distinct sound that takes listeners on a captivating musical journey. With each track, they blend technical precision, atmospheric layers, and dynamic shifts, creating an immersive experience that challenges traditional genre constraints. Formed by a group of passionate musicians, Orialus has embraced a bold vision of experimentation, blending the heavy with the melodic, the chaotic with the ethereal. Their music not only pushes sonic limits but also tells stories through intricate compositions and raw, emotional performances. Whether in the studio or on stage, Orialus is committed to taking audiences into uncharted territory, offering a fresh and unforgettable perspective on modern metalcore. NRWHL is a Christian post-hardcore band from Prescott, Arizona, blending hardcore aggression with post-core intensity and noise-driven energy. Born from the ashes of the local hardcore scene, NRWHL exists to create music that is loud, physical, and rooted in real belief, struggle, and honest expression. The band is deeply committed to pouring everything into their art. From screaming guitars and heavy-hitting drums and bass to raw, unfiltered vocals, NRWHL brings full intensity whether they’re on stage, in the studio, or in practice. Their live shows are built around movement, connection, and shared energy with the people in the room. At the core of NRWHL is faith.
SMILE EMPTY SOUL is a hard rock band that originated in Los Angeles, CA in the late 1990's and has stayed true to their brand of "no bullshit", "real as it gets" hard rock to this day. The band signed a major label record deal in 2003 to release their self-titled debut album in May of that year. They realized huge success at alternative radio, rock radio, and the music video channels that have since fallen by the wayside or turned into reality show networks. After 3 very successful singles/videos, and a gold record from the debut release, the band ran into trouble with their record company (which was in the midst of turmoil at the top levels) and found themselves working extra hard in the trenches, and signed to indie labels from then on. This would become SMILE EMPTY SOUL' s destiny, as they have gone on to release many more albums on various labels, with their new single “dead inside” coming in Oct of 2025. The band has become known for its constant touring and never wavering honest sound/lyrics. They've never changed for anybody, and turned down many opportunities to "sell out" because it's not who they are. Now, with the debut release being over 22 years ago, and the band still going just as strong as ever, SMILE EMPTY SOUL seems to have established itself as one of the defining underground rock bands of its generation.

Having evolved from their understated slowcore beginnings in Austin, Texas, they’re now seasoned veterans of the scene. Across their first five studio albums, the duo established their trademark sound of twangy indie rock, 2000s-inspired pop-country, and emotional acoustic ballads with strong pop sensibilities. Their last two records saw them processing life’s most intense emotions more openly than ever before, from declarations of love in its many forms on 2021’s True Love, to grappling with loss and personal change on their latest self-titled album, Hovvdy.
JOHNNY MANCHILD “There’s a mad genius living in Oklahoma City who possesses the manic drive of a classical composer”… “A creative tour de force”… “Theater kids and pop-punk aficionados, gather ‘round.” Since 2016, Johnny Manchild has led an ever-evolving lineup, affectionately dubbed the Poor Bastards, in the pursuit of conveying the noise in his head. A noise that gets louder everyday, and is never quite the same with each iteration. Amassing over 400,000 listeners over the last decade, collaborating with Adrian Young and Todd Foreman of No Doubt and Sublime respectively, performing alongside the Dresden Dolls, and independently assembling a 48 show, six week tour of house shows for over 3000 ravenous attendees (hosted by equally ravenous fans themselves), Johnny Manchild has broken down every conventional method in this pursuit of creating and exposing his music. With five albums under his belt, and his new self-produced album, “Side Effects” slated for 2026, Johnny Manchild has shown no sides of resting until the noise subsides; though the odds of that happening anytime soon are growing smaller everyday. FRIEND OF A FRIEND Friend of a Friend formed in the summer of 2020 after a lifetime just missing each other. Since their 2022 debut release, they’ve toured relentlessly throughout Europe and North America. FOAF has released 3 records in the last 3 years, been featured in SPIN Magazine, named an artist to watch by Rolling Stone, an “American Visionary Duo” by Mesmerized, an “indie rock band taking the scene by storm" by Wonderland Magazine. KARMA AND THE KILLJOYS Karma and the Killjoys is classical piano turned rock band. Loud key-smashing chords dueling with gritty electric guitar, powerful, raw female voices and a thick chorus of harmonies is the strange and compelling concoction the band calls piano-rock. Ever pushing the bounds of what that means, Karma and the Killjoys expand their musicality with every song, both embracing and defying the genre–and therefore defining it. Karma and the Killjoys is Rain Scott-Catoire (piano, vocals, songwriting), Sydni Myers (vocals, songwriting), Thomas Vercher (drums), and Tim Marchand (guitar).

Hailing from the quaint town of Rigby, Idaho, Anyone Awake is an Alternative Indie band that’s breaking through geographic boundaries and turning heads wherever they play. Formed in late 2022 by high school sophomores and lifelong friends Cassius Coleman and Sam Butterfield, this group of young musicians has already begun to make waves with their electrifying performances and raw, emotive sound. Their debut release, Point It Out, recorded live at Make It Now! Productions, showcased their unpolished, heartfelt approach to music. The band quickly expanded, with the addition of Rylan Sager on lead guitar and Seth Chamberlain on drums, amplifying their energy and creating a dynamic soundscape that audiences can’t help but connect with. While their hometown may be small, Anyone Awake’s ambition is anything but. In just a short time, they’ve moved from local gigs to stages in Los Angeles, all while building a dedicated fanbase with their captivating live shows. Every performance is fueled by their passion for connecting with audiences through music that blends heartfelt lyrics and unforgettable hooks. At just thirteen, Cassius began writing the band’s debut LP, Bushel and a Peck, released October 25th, 2024. The album is deeply personal, inspired by the love story of Cassius’ grandparents, weaving their journey into a touching, melodic narrative. Even more impressive, he recorded this album at just 16 years old, demonstrating a musical depth and maturity that far exceeds his years. The album represents a leap forward for the band, with professional production that enhances every element of their already distinctive sound. Their first single, “Pluto/Charon,” is already streaming on all major platforms, with their second single, “I Think So,” gaining more than 25,000 streams within 3 weeks of its release. In a matter of days, Anyone Awake has seen their social media following skyrocket by over 30,000 followers, driven by their quirky and authentic online presence – including the viral success of lead guitarist Rylan Sager’s extra toe, lovingly dubbed ‘Toeby,’ which has even inspired a line of merch. With Bushel and a Peck on the charts and a rapidly growing fanbase, Anyone Awake is primed to make their mark on the indie music scene. Their blend of youthful energy, undeniable talent, and a sound that transcends their small-town origins makes them a band on the rise. Driven by the belief that even when you’re awake, you should never stop dreaming, they continue to transform ambition into action, proving that big dreams aren’t just meant to be chased—they’re meant to be lived, one performance at a time.

Raised in working class neighborhoods and proud of their roots, the band channels lived experience into songs that balance sharp social awareness with a sense of hope, crafting choruses meant to be shouted back from the pit. On records like 'Cold World' and 'What's Left Now?' they sharpen their sound into tightly wound, hook-filled anthems, while tracks like "Monolith" and "Drown" showcase a band unafraid to be both vulnerable and volatile.
Hey, you. Sponges of Experience was written over the 4-day weekend of Memorial Day, 2025. It was a challenge to myself: when I was a wee teenager, I heard Elvis Costello mention on some talk show (I’ve long forgotten which) that he could write an album over a weekend. It was an offhand remark, a throwaway line as he was promoting something or other. As I had already become a prolific writer myself, I was curious if I could pull off something of the sort.Fast forward to 35-odd years later, I decided to give it a shot. I offered myself FOUR days rather than just the two, and perhaps that’s a cheat, but since it was Memorial Day weekend I decided to allow it. As it turned out, I absolutely needed those extra two days. The other rules were simple: I just needed to write a complete composition and completed lyrics for enough songs to fill an album. At least… eight songs, though I would’ve been disappointed with just eight. I kept pushing myself to write as much as possible, as I wanted to have enough songs to be able to weed out one or two of the crappier contributions. All of the additional arrangements you hear were written and recorded after the fact, casually over the remaining year, no rush nor rules on those parameters.I have a nice little community online, a Patreon group called, “Tim Kasher’s home phone”, that I shared the weekend challenge with. They were incredibly supportive, helping keep me to task as I didn’t want to let them (nor I) down. As soon as I finished a song I went live online to perform it. ‘Receipts’, you might say.I started strong: four songs the first day and four songs the second day. Excellent, after two days I had already hit that minimum quota of eight songs! But as mentioned, I wanted more; more songs to be able to pick and choose from. The third day was rough. Unsurprisingly, I hit a wall and had to take the bulk of the day off as I simply could not muster any inspiration. I managed to eke out one more song that day. But the fourth and final day bore more fruit, including The Collapse and Don’t Hang Up, a couple of favorites. What a ride.Spurred on by many of the kind folk in the Patreon group, I decided not to cut any songs from the album and let it be released as a complete artifact of the weekend. I can’t claim to love all these songs, but I do love some of them, and certainly, all of them are endearing to me.This funny little trifle of a weekend project wound up meaning a lot to me. I love music and songwriting in a way I don’t think I’ll ever quite be able to explain, though I’m sure I’ll continue to try, and will continue to express this adoration for the rest of my days. I feel so incredibly thankful for being a songwriter, and I encourage all of you to become songwriters as well. They don’t gotta be good songs, it’s enough that they’re simply yours. With sincerity, Tim.

How did East Nash Grass follow up their 2024 International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) award for Best New Artist? By earning a nomination for Entertainer of the Year, IBMA’s highest honor, in 2025, and celebrating fiddler Maddie Denton’s win as Fiddler of the Year. In short, East Nash Grass have quickly established themselves as the fresh new face of Nashville’s storied bluegrass tradition, a supergroup of rising stars: Grand Master Fiddle champion Denton is joined by banjo player Cory Walker (banjo player on the five-time nominated “Carter & Cleveland” album this year, among numerous accolades), 2022 IBMA Momentum Mandolin Player of the Year Harry Clark, and charismatic frontman James Kee. This is an all-star band that harkens back to the sort of talent collected in the original Blue Grass Boys and a powerhouse leader of the next generation in bluegrass excellence. Rolling Stone had them among the “best of what we saw” at RockyGrass in 2025, praising their “rowdy set of high-octane bluegrass numbers,” and noting, “The group itself is a rapidly-rising force on the national touring scene.” And “rowdy” is right. They are far more than just a group of impressive instrumental technicians, building on night after night of three-set gigs on Nashville’s East Side, playing tiny stages for the love of it between tours backing bigger acts. It’s a hard-forged bond that translates into an infectious on-stage energy that audiences can’t seem to get enough of. With their new release, “All God’s Children” (Mountain Fever, August 22, 2025), they show a depth and feel, too, that goes well beyond the traditional bluegrass fair, with nods to Gypsy jazz and East Village folk, and eye toward moving bluegrass forward and keeping it from being too mired in the past. If East Nash Grass isn’t the future of the genre it’s only because they’re already among its leading lights.

Are you gay? Do you believe in god? Are you mysteriously attracted to humanoid cartoon animals? Well, Wic Whitney answered yes to two of those questions. Hi, my name’s Jadè, I’m Wic Whitney’s dying house plant. 2025 was a busy year for Wic, opening for the Nicotine Dolls on two separate cross-country tours, headlining his first tour in the summer and dropping his first full length project “Foolhardy” in the Fall. All of which went exceedingly well, or so he told me while putting the finishing touches on his grandmother’s casserole (see below). His eclectic genre-full combination of hip-hop, folk, and funk is held together by his soulful vocals and thoughtful lyricism that entices the listener to take a breath and be present in whatever feeling life is throwing their way. He’s also a sensational lay. With a heart that doctors call “too large”, Wic puts his whole foot into the unique charismatic sound he creates, and it shows in both his live performance and his online presence. Amassing hundreds of thousands of followers and millions of views and streams there’s just something about this grey eyed dandy with sleep apnea that people like.
The Body is a prolific musical force whose creativity is matched only by the astonishing weight of their sound. Duo Lee Buford and Chip King have established their own musical language that reimagines how rhythm, dynamics, and sonics can shape or dismantle song structure. Over the course of two decades, the duo has consistently challenged assumptions and defied categorization, redefining what it means to be a heavy band. On their new album, The Body are again pushing limits and testing the boundaries of the studio to explore the extremes and microtonality of distortion to find its maximal impact. I’ve Seen All I Need To See is The Body at their most incisively bleak, a towering monolith of noise. I’ve Seen All I Need To See marks both a return and departure for The Body. In contrast to the electronic-centric instrumentation and production-heavy arrangements of previous albums and Buford’s work in Sightless Pit, this album is focused on their core live sound: Buford’s booming, resolute drums paired with King’s obliterated guitar and howl. Following albums with extensive guest performances and acclaimed collaborations with Thou, Uniform, Full of Hell, and more, I’ve Seen All I Need To See is almost entirely the core duo. Guests vocalist/pianist Chrissy Wolpert and vocalist Ben Eberle are used very sparingly. Course, bristling distortion contorts every instrument, with samples of spoken word, cymbals, toms and King’s already noxious tone emerging from layers of feedback. The myriad of tonal interplays, captured in detail, has a movement all its own. The Body, together with engineer Seth Manchester of Machines With Magnets, capture the complexities of distorted sound in stunning detail. The clarity and the cacophony exceed anything they’ve created before, morphing desolate, festering soundscapes into an exhilarating sonic universe.

PROFANATICA are at the vanguard of the first wave of American black metal. Founded and led by infamous master of black perversion Paul Ledney (drums/vocals), they have purveyed primeval blasphemy for nigh on thirty-three years. Ledney formed the band from the ashes of the first INCANTATION lineup when he split and took with him all of the members sans John McEntee. That early trio of ex-INCANTATION members reeled off three ground-breaking demos of some of the most extreme and blasphemic metal of its time in rapid succession. The band flyers that permeated the tape-trading circuit were no less shocking and featured the trio bloody and naked and in the throes of what was most certainly a primeval summoning of some kind. In short order, they had inked a deal with the fledgling Osmose Productions for what became one of that labels first releases (Osmose release #5); a legendary split with Colombia's MASACRE. Something so volatile could only last briefly, and after another brief recording session the band collapsed under the weight of its own extremity. but the recordings made in this two year window went on to see dozens of reissues in the coming decades, in a testament to how formidable and formative they are to the black metal scene worldwide. After almost fifteen years spent with his equally polarizing solo project HAVOHEJ, Ledney reignited the flames of PROFANATICA in 2006. Reemerging with a new deal from Hells Headbangers, Ledney and his new band released 'The Enemy of Virtue', a collection of that vaunted early material, and a new full-length, 'Profanatitas de Domonatia'. A triumphant return, 'Profanatitas de Domonatia' picked up right where these Kings of US Black Metal left off, delivering a savage stream of chainsaw guitars and relentless battery upon which they desecrated everything sacred. This set-in motion another frenetic burst of work for PROFANATICA. The next decade saw them unleash four new full-length albums of blasphemous perversions, sacrilegious incantations, and furious black metal. In addition, the band issued six mini-albums and EP's, a full DVD of early footage, and began touring internationally in Europe and in Central and South America. For the first time PROFANATICA were appearing near or at the top of the bill at festivals like MDF, Messe Des Mortes, Hells Headbash, Prague Death Mass (Czech Republic), Chaos Descends (Germany), Black Sun (Spain), Tyrant Fest (France), SWR Fest (Portugal) and many more. In fall 2018, PROFANATICA joined forces with Season of Mist and undertook their biggest tour to date supporting WATAIN and ROTTING CHRIST across Europe. And a year later, the trio vomited forth a most vulgar strain of black metal ejaculate with their SoM debut album 'Rotting Incarnation of God'. The band embarked on an extensive twelve-country European headline tour in the album's wake. Shortly after returning home that winter, the world ground to a halt in 2020. Save a live-streaming concert production for the legendary Rock al Parque in conjunction with BATUSHKA, little was heard from PROFANATICA. That is until spring 2023, when PROFANATICA emerged from their den of iniquity on a European headline tour to promote a new album. 'Crux Simplex' is a ten-track offensive of sin and sacrilege, a nasty affront that bastardizes the first 10 stations of the cross. As per their legacy, PROFANATICA deals in bestial, first-wave black metal barbarity, and their eighth album unveils ungodly levels of bile and blasphemy.

Occupational Hazard by Unsane returns in a newly remastered edition reviving a pivotal moment in the band’s history where abrasive, heavy sound collided with elements of punk, metal, and industrial music. Originally released in January 1998 through Relapse Records, the album’s reissue arrives on Friday, February 4, 2026 viathe band’s own imprint label Lamb Unlimited, revisiting a defining chapter in the group’s evolution. Sonically, the record is noted for its aggressively distorted guitars, driving basslines, andpounding drums – hallmarks of the band’s uncompromising noise rock style. In preparation for the album, the band first recorded a six-song demo session at AmRep Studios in Minneapolis, MN. Shortly after, Unsane relocated to Excello Studios in Brooklyn, NY, where they tracked the album with engineer Billy Anderson. Frontman Chris Spencer (guitar, vocals) recalls the period: “The writing process for Occupational Hazard was great. I think the one real defining factor to this very creatively rewarding period of time in our career was that we knew what we were doing in terms of songwriting, and we were able to take our time while constantly playing.” Following the recording sessions, Occupational Hazard was mixed by legendary producer and Barkmarket guitarist David Sardy. Reflecting on the collaboration, Spencer adds: “I’ve always liked what he did with his own band and in the studio, and I thought that it would work well for what we were doing. Dave also had access to a really good studio in Midtown Manhattan, so we decided to take advantage of his great production work and that space. We had been offered a three-record deal with Relapse Records and figured that would be the best thing to do, considering we wanted to tour constantly.” Shortly before the album’s original release, during a European press tour, Spencer was brutally attacked by street thugs in Vienna, Austria, and left for dead. He returned to touring after emergency surgery, though the incident significantly disrupted the album’s original touring cycle. Now, more than two decades later, the entire album has been newly remastered by longtime Unsane collaborator and engineer Andrew Schneider. All formats will include an extra track, “No Soul,” originally released via Frank Kozik’s now-defunct, infamous Man’s Ruin label as a vinyl-only limited edition. Additionally, the band will release the original six-song demo session recorded at AmRep Studios in Minneapolis, MN. This previously unreleased material will be included in the digital download format and will also be made available for streaming and download. Despite its cult status, the band had never performed Occupational Hazard in its entirety– until a newly announced, one-time-only special performance at the Roadburn Festival in April 2026. In addition to this exclusive appearance, Unsane will embark on a full EU/UK headline tour, running from March 13 to April 19, 2026.

Every universe begins with a singular point, a quiet corner where instinct speaks loudest, where existential imagination can stretch its limbs. For acclaimed harpist and songwriter Mikaela Davis’ new album, Graceland Way (due TK via Kill Rock Stars), that singularity was a hillside home in Chevy Chase Canyon, a spot nestled in Los Angeles County where time slowed, the world fell away, and Davis could create from a sense of warmth and deep attentiveness. The “canyon country” epic born of that care ties a neo-western future back to the lineage of Laurel Canyon, the mythos of Elvis’s Graceland, and Paul Simon’s restless reinvention—a place where Davis can explore the fragile balance of light and dark, grace and struggle, rose and thorn, as well as the mystical power found at their nexus. The record’s musical big bang originated at the nexus of UHF Studio, where Davis and noted guitarist John Lee Shannon, co-wrote the record and co-produced alongside longtime collaborator Dan Horne. As the album’s story of an unnamed antihero navigating life in a failing world, her harp, his guitar, and their joint melodies weave a mystic depth. That’s immediately evident from the opening track “(Looking Through) Rose Colored Glasses”, a harp glissando burst functioning like a blissful wormhole to a new universe where dark Western tones come aided by Kurt G. Johnson’s pedal steel guitar and transformative harmonies from guest vocalists Madison Cunningham and Tim Heidecker. But even in this pained origin story, Davis’ glittering, opalescent voice and evocative harp find a depth of beauty. That duality is then immediately challenged in “Nothin’s On The Radio”, where the antihero arrives in a city devoid of meaning, the dystopia of modern homogenized radio writ large. “It already feels dystopic living in a world today where radio stations are all owned by a handful of corporations, all playing the same artists. Gone are the days when the radio was a way to bring people together, to amplify the voices of freaks and weirdos from all corners of the world,” she says. “I was fortunate to grow up in the last years of the golden age of FM radio, and being able to tune into this magical world far beyond my own was a transformative experience. Hearing artists like Sheryl Crow and Vanessa Carlton coming through the car stereo is what made me want to write songs and play music in the first place.” As the album progresses and the story continues, Davis and her compatriots explore magic and mysticism on “11:11” and the haunting darkness of “Mizmoon”. Cass McCombs wrote the latter, rattling percussion and Davis’ harp low end giving way to slippery shadows of violin. “When Cass first sent over the track, it was the coolest thing I'd ever heard,” Davis says. “The music and lyrics create such an ominous mood and I could imagine how the harp would carry the song right away.” Elsewhere, Wednesday vocalist Karly Hartzman contributes to “Junk Love”, an exploration of knowingly filling an empty space with meaningless physicality. Across Graceland Way’s, Davis’ harp masterfully powers the wide variety of soundscapes, taking on an ecstatic range of emotional color. “At the end of the journey, the place you were destined for all along isn’t even a place, it’s a state of mind: Graceland Way,” Davis says. “It’s all interconnected and the universe balances itself. You need the dark to see the light, and the most beauty usually happens where the two meet.”
